Korean boy band BTS surprised ARMY around the world today (April 26) with the news of their upcoming Love Yourself world tour. The Korean septet shared the announcement via their company’s Twitter account, and shared dates for shows in 11 cities throughout Asia, North America, and Europe, with the promise of more shows getting announced in the future.
The group announced their arrival on the international music scene when they became the first K-pop group to win a prestigious Billboard Music Award. In 2017 they beat Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Shawn Mendes in the Top Social Artist, voted for by fans. The win marked a breakthrough for the K-pop genre, which has long tried to crack Western markets.
The hugely exciting news was announced via BTS’s agency BigHit Entertainment, with the tour also including dates in Seoul, Los Angeles, Oakland, Fort Worth, Hamilton, Newark and Chicago. Even more dates are set to be announced, with the tour kicking off in August.
